Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant (EA IV) for the Affective Needs program at Trailblazer Elementary. You will provide specialized support for students with emotional and behavioral challenges, implementing crisis intervention strategies and promoting a calm, therapeutic learning environment.

You will work closely with the Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, and other professionals to support IEP goals and student progress.

Qualifications

• Must have High School or Equivalent
• First Aid & CPR certification encouraged/required
• Willingness to complete crisis management training

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation with fidelity.
• Support students in social-emotional learning and coping skills.
• Assist with IEP goals related to social, emotional, and academic development.
• Facilitate restorative practices and social skills groups.
• Collaborate with special educators and mental health professionals.
