Job summary

Lake Oswego School District is seeking a Temporary Special Education Assistant I (SEA I) to provide 1:1 support at Lake Oswego Middle School. The position is 7 hours per day for 184 days (prorated), with pay ranging from $20.75 to $28.47 per hour depending on experience.

The SEA I will assist with instructional activities, monitor student progress, and help with health and safety routines under supervision of classroom staff. Strong communication and flexibility are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules and operating instructions.
• Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence with accuracy.
• Proficiency with basic office software and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional activities and supervision of students with special needs.
• Document student progress and assist with IEP/504 plans.
• Provide health and mobility support and follow medical/health protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information per laws and district policies.
• Support teachers with testing and data collection.
• Supervise students during breaks, lunches, field trips, and buses.
