Job summary

The Sylvania School District is seeking dedicated Special Education Aides to work one-on-one with students and support groups as identified in IEPs. All activities are conducted under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.

SEA responsibilities include assisting with academic tasks, feeding, daily living activities, mobility, personal care, behavior support, and charting of progress. The role emphasizes patience, clear communication, and teamwork within the school environment.

Qualifications

• Assist students one-on-one and in small groups as identified by IEPs.
• Support effective learning through clear communication and patience.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement IEP goals and progress notes.

Responsibilities

The District seeks dedicated and caring individuals to work one-on-one with a student and/or with multiple students to meet the needs identified in the student’s Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs). All activities conducted by the Special Education Aide (SEA) are under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.

SEAs will assist students in one or more of the following areas:

• Academic Assistance
• Feeding Assistance
• Functional and Daily Living Activities
• Mobility Skills
• Personal Activities
• Behavior Intervention
• Charting.
