Job summary

RSU 40 Midcoast Maine is hiring Educational Technicians to support students with diverse needs across special education programs. The role involves teamwork with teachers and related service providers to deliver academic, behavioral, and functional support on a program-based basis.

Ideal candidates will hold or pursue Maine Ed Tech I/II/III certification, have experience with children, and demonstrate strong communication and collaboration skills in a flexible, student-centered setting.

Qualifications

Educational Technician (Ed Tech I, II, or III)

RSU 40 Midcoast Maine

RSU 40 is seeking flexible, student-centered Educational Technicians to support students across our special education programs. These positions work as part of a collaborative team to provide academic, behavioral, and functional support to students with diverse needs.

This is a program-based role, meaning staff may support students across classrooms, programs, and schools based on student needs

What You'll Do

• Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development
• Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans
• Provide 1:1 and small group support in a variety of settings
• Assist with classroom routines, materials, and organization
• Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities
• Build positive, supportive relationships with students
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and program teams
• Help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments

What We're Looking For

• Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or ability to obtain)
• Experience working with children (preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and willingness to support across programs
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations
• Commitment to student growth, inclusion, and dignity
