Job summary

RSU 40 Midcoast Maine seeks flexible, student-centered Educational Technicians to support students across our special education programs. This is a program-based role, with staff supporting across classrooms, programs, and schools based on student needs.

As an Ed Tech I-III, you will implement IEP goals, provide 1:1 and small group support, and help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments. Ongoing training and professional development are offered.

Qualifications

  • Maine Ed Tech I, II, or III certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience working with children (preferred).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support across programs.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and responsive in dynamic situations.
  • Commitment to student growth, inclusion, and dignity.

Responsibilities

  • Support students in academic, behavioral, and functional skill development.
  • Implement IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in a variety of settings.
  • Assist with classroom routines, materials, and organization.
  • Support students during transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities.
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and program teams.
  • Help create safe, structured, and inclusive learning environments.

Educational Technician (Ed Tech I, II, or III)

RSU 40 is seeking flexible, student-centered Educational Technicians to support students across our special education programs. These positions work as part of a collaborative team to provide academic, behavioral, and functional support to students with diverse needs. This is a program-based role, meaning staff may support students across classrooms, programs, and schools based on student needs.
