Job summary

Jefferson School District 251 is seeking a Literacy Learning Lab Reading Tutor to support first grade reading skills. This position is part-time, with a 16-week commitment from January through May, and requires in-person engagement and data-tracking for each tutoring session.

You will participate in a January course and online self-paced modules, collaborating with the Literacy Learning Lab Director to implement Reading Ready interventions and monitor student progress.

Qualifications

• 16-week course commitment from January 5 to May 5.
• Comfortable conducting 1:1 sessions with first grade students.
• Positive attitude and growth mindset when working with students.
• Willingness to learn about key literacy concepts.
• Ability to follow written directions.
• Organized, timely, responsible, and professional.
• Computer knowledge and experience with word processing, email, and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Take the January course.
• Complete in-person requirements and online modules.
• Commit to semester-long tutoring starting the first week of January through May.
• Data entry for each tutoring session.
• Track and submit timesheets.
• Incorporate feedback from the Literacy Learning Lab mentor.
• Keep tutoring materials organized and bring them to sessions.
• Track lesson and unit information and data.
