Job summary

Hartley Elementary School is seeking a tutor to provide individualized instruction for a first-grade student. Instruction will begin with foundational phonics skills and may expand to additional literacy skills and other subjects based on the student's needs.

The tutor will provide explicit, systematic instruction and collaborate with the classroom teacher to align tutoring with the student's learning needs.

Qualifications

• Must have Minnesota READ Act literacy training (LETRS or CORE OL&LA).
• Experience supporting elementary students, especially in foundational reading.
• Strong communication, patience, and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Provide explicit, systematic tutoring aligned with the student's needs.
• Collaborate with classroom teacher to align tutoring with curriculum.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Build a positive relationship that supports confidence and engagement.
