Job summary

Concord Hospital is seeking a Patient Sitter to provide 1:1 monitoring for adult or pediatric behavioral health patients or patients at risk for suicide. Monitoring can be in-person or via video monitor, with reporting to nursing staff if changes occur.

The role emphasizes strong communication, listening and observation skills, and the ability to respond swiftly while maintaining professional appearance. Shifts include day, nights, weekends and holidays, with continuous supervision of patients

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and significant others in a respectful manner.
• Orients patient and/or significant other(s) to situation and surroundings.
• Documents care provided and reports to the RN observations of patient’s physical, social and mental status.
• Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients.
• Ensures continuous supervision of patients at all times.
• The usage of cell phones, laptops, books, etc. is strictly prohibited.
• Alerts nursing staff when patients need help with activities of daily living.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Adheres to relevant policies, procedures and standards.
• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
