Job summary

Phelps Health is seeking a compassionate Sitter to provide 1:1 observation and minimal ADL assistance with a strong focus on safety for at-risk patients. You will support the care team by maintaining calm, communicating clearly, and documenting patient behaviors according to policy.

Under licensed supervision, you’ll work in a hospital setting, adhering to infection control, patient privacy, and safety protocols while showing dignity and respect during stressful situations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to monitor patients and document behaviors accurately per policy.
• Strong communication with the care team to ensure patient safety.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Follows hospital policies on patient safety and infection prevention.
• Works with nursing staff to meet basic patient needs and respond to requests.
• Provides 1:1 observation and seamless safety coverage with the patient care team.
• Documents patient behaviors and activities at established time intervals.
• Communicates pertinent patient information to the care team to improve outcomes.
• Maintains confidentiality of the plan of care and adheres to appearance and attendance policies.
