Job summary

WellSpan Health seeks a patient sitter to support behavioral health and general care needs. The role focuses on preventing falls, managing high-risk patients, and providing compassionate, therapeutic interaction. Responsibilities include patient observation, safe transport assistance, and documentation in the EHR.

Training in Behavioral Health and MBMT methods is provided. Full-time or part-time shifts available; 3pm–11pm with 8 hours minimum per week.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• No prior experience is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
• Behavioral Health training is provided upon hire and required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety by preventing falls and injuries.
• Provide one-on-one observation for high-risk elopement or behavioral patients.
• Escort and accompany patients during transport as needed.
• Document required information in the EHR.
• Engage patients in therapeutic activities and de-escalation techniques.
