Job summary

Concord Hospital Health System is seeking a Patient Sitter to provide 1:1 monitoring for behavioral health patients or those at risk for suicide, under RN direction. The role focuses on observing changes in condition and notifying nursing staff as needed.

Responsibilities include documenting observations, maintaining boundaries, and ensuring continuous supervision while adhering to confidentiality and hospital policies. Shifts include day, night, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with patients and significant others in a respectful manner.
• Orients patient and/or family to situation and surroundings.
• Documents care provided and reports to the RN observations of patient’s status.
• Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients.
• Ensures continuous supervision of patients at all times; prohibits personal devices and distractions.
• Alerts nursing staff when patients need help with activities of daily living.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
• Adheres to hospital policies and standards.
• Performs job-specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
