Job summary

Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District in Ohio is seeking an Elementary School Paraprofessional to support students with special needs and assist classroom staff in delivering educational services.

The role includes assisting with remedial and enrichment activities, and supporting instructional goals. Work hours are 8:15 AM–3:45 PM, Monday–Friday, 195 days per year, with pay scales from $17.47 to $21.50 per hour depending on credentials.

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of college coursework or an associate's degree or higher.
• Alternative: high school diploma with ParaPro Assessment.
• One year of related work experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience operating basic office equipment such as copiers.
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children up to 40 pounds.
• Active Educational Aide Permit (1-Year or 4-Year) or teaching license.

Job Summary:

Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year

Elementary School Parapro Day: 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework
• OR an Associate's Degree or higher
• OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
• An active Educational Aide Permit (1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education

Experience working with students with special needs

Salary:

$17.47/hour (non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree); $21.50 (Teaching Certificate)
