Job summary

Cleveland Heights University Heights City Schools is seeking an Educational Aide to assist teachers and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs. The role requires at least 2 years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree, as well as strong interpersonal skills and experience working with students with special needs. The position offers a competitive hourly wage based on qualifications and spans 7 hours per day, five days a week during the school year.

Description: Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs. Work will involve assisting students with remedial, enrichment and/or independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals.

Job Summary: Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year. Elementary School Paraprofessional Day: 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM, Monday - Friday.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 years of college coursework
  • OR an Associate's Degree or higher
  • OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
  • One year of related successful work experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
  • Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
  • Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
  • An active Educational Aide Permit(1-Year or 4-Year) or a teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education
• Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience working with students with special needs

Salary

$17.47/hour (non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree); $21.50 (Teaching Certificate)
