Job summary

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District is seeking an Elementary School Paraprofessional to work with students with special needs in an intensive behavior classroom. You will assist teachers, counselors and administrators in implementing remedial, enrichment and independent living activities to meet instructional goals and student needs.

Description

Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs. Work will involve assisting students with remedial, enrichment and/or independent living activities as well as supporting instructional and educational goals. These positions are in an intensive behavior classroom.

Job Summary

Minimum of 7.0 hours/day, 5 days/week, 195 days/year

Elementary School Parapro Day: 8:15 AM - 3:45 PM; 7.0 hours/day

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 years of college coursework
• OR an Associate\'s Degree or higher
• OR high school diploma with the passage of the ParaPro Assessment prior to employment
• One year of related successful work experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Experience in operating basic office equipment, such as copiers
• Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children weighing at least forty (40) pounds
• Physical ability to perform all of the essential functions of the job.
• A valid Educational Aide Permit or license issued by the Ohio Department of Education

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with students with special needs

Salary

Step 1, $17.47/hour (non-degreed); $19.74/hour (2-year degree), $21.50(teaching certificate)
