Job summary

MAHOMET-Seymour Junior High is seeking a Paraprofessional to provide one-on-one support to a student in general education classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers and support staff to help the student access the curriculum and develop independence throughout the school day.

Responsibilities include assisting with academic and behavioral support, implementing accommodations, monitoring progress, and promoting positive peer interactions

Qualifications

• Must have an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or the Short-Term Approval for the Paraprofessional or the ability to obtain one of these license options prior to employment.
• Experience working with adolescents is preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, work effectively as part of a team, and build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Must be able to pass a physical abilities test prior to starting employment.
