Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold an Illinois ELS Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement or Short-Term Approval, or be able to obtain one before employment.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, work as part of a team, and build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Must pass a physical abilities test prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic, organizational, and behavioral support to an assigned student in general education classrooms.
• Assist the student with classroom activities, transitions, assignments, and daily routines while promoting independence.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the student's educational plan.
• Monitor student progress and communicate observations with teachers and support staff.
• Foster positive peer interactions and encourage student engagement.
• Assist with supervision during lunch, passing periods, and other school activities as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with district policies and procedures.
