Accesspoint RI is seeking a 1:1 Paraprofessional to work under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher to support a specific student in achieving individualized goals in an inclusive setting.

The role includes assisting with classroom activities, therapy reinforcement, daily living tasks, and collaboration with staff and families to promote safety, learning, and participation.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or an associate degree in a related field.
• Certification: Teacher Assistant Training program and the ParaPro test.
• Ability to support students with multiple disabilities.
• Strong communication with students, staff, and families.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to an assigned student following IEP goals.
• Assist lead teacher with instruction and classroom setup.
• Supervise student during activities, play, and transitions.
• Support therapies such as speech, OT, or PT as directed.
• Use positive behavior strategies to promote engagement.
• Assist with daily living tasks (feeding, toileting, dressing).
• Collaborate with teachers and staff and share observations.
