Job summary

Mukilteo School District’s Challenger Elementary in Everett, WA is seeking a 1:1 Paraeducator for a 6.25-hour day, 180 days per year, with benefits. Anticipated start date is September 1, 2026.

Hours are 8:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the teacher in the classroom with a student requiring 1:1 support, including supervision during recess and bus assistance, and may aid with IEP goals and related supports.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Meet one of the following requirements: associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or completed paraeducator apprenticeship, or PESB-approved assessment.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily supervision to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect and maintain diagnostic data, and update student records.
• Assist with behavior management and progress observations; share observations with staff.
• Provide clerical/classroom support and assist with personal care and safety as needed.
• Perform crossing guard duties and supervise students in cafeterias/recess.
