Job summary

Stafford Elementary School is seeking a 1:1 paraeducator to assist with pupil instruction under the direction of the special education teacher. The role includes supporting students in small groups, maintaining classroom discipline, and helping with IEP implementation.

The position involves supervising students during recess and lunch, assisting with assignments, and occasional toileting support as needed. PMT is provided by the district and the work day runs 8:45am–3:45pm.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or higher (with Parapro Assessment acceptable).
• Two years of college credit or an associate degree or higher.
• Parapro Assessment assessing math, reading, writing content knowledge.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to work with students in one-on-one or small group settings.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline.
• Assist teacher with instructional activities.
• Escort students within the building.
• May assist with toileting of students.
• Support with IEP implementation.
• Supervise students during recess and lunch.
• Assist with classroom assignments and paperwork.
• Notify teachers of potential problems.
