Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools Edgewood Elementary in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Social Emotional Program (ISEP). The position is one-on-one, 6.5 hours per day, nine months per year, and non-exempt under FLSA.

Immediate starting date with required background and transcripts process. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and may need transcripts or ParaPro results.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; official transcripts may be requested.
• One of: Associate’s degree (90 quarter, 60 semester) or 72 quarter/48 semester credits from an accredited institution; or ETS ParaPro Assessment score of 461+
• One year of related experience with children in educational settings preferred
• Experience on an educational team and with disabilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Treat coworkers, supervisors, students, parents with dignity and respect at all times
• Serve as a positive role model for students and model expected behaviors
• Work as a team member to assist the teacher with goals and IEPs
• Assist with data entry, record keeping, and material preparation
• Observe and support student behaviors and safety in various school settings
