Job summary

Bremerton School District 100-C is seeking a Paraeducator to support classroom instruction and student assessments. This position is 6 hours per day, 181 days per year, and reports to Building Supervisor or Designee.

Required credentials include a high school diploma or GED (or AA/72 credits) and passing or alternative assessments. Experience with children in a school setting is preferred; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or 72 college credits or AA degree
• Test results from ParaPathways, ParaPro, Pearson or Master Teacher tests
• Knowledge of child development and learning styles
• Effective written and spoken communication
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Instruct individuals or small groups to promote learning objectives and support IEPs
• Supervise students to ensure safety and well-being
• Maintain student records and monitor progress
• Conduct student assessments to determine placement and progress
• Assist with planning and preparing curriculum and resources
• Process daily work, correct and grade papers
• Provide medical assistance and therapy sessions as directed when needed
• Attend meetings and training; perform other duties as assigned
