Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of math, spelling, reading, grammar, and punctuation.
• Desire and aptitude to work with students.
• Ability to positively and professionally interact with students, supervisors, and staff.
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team situation.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage student behavior.
• Ability to operate standard classroom equipment.
• Provide for the physical, health and safety needs of students.
• Knowledge of computer applications used to assist with student learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher(s) with the daily supervision of students for a safe and positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect and maintain data, update records, and assess progress.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with staff.
• Implement strategies to address diverse student needs and support goals.
• Provide classroom support activities: clerical tasks, materials prep, data entry.
