Qualifications

• Basic WA State Paraeducator qualifications
• Experience working with children
• Ability to assist with planning, preparation and delivery of instructional program
• Ability to supervise students in various settings
• Ability to provide physical assistance and care to students with diverse needs

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher(s) with daily supervision of students to maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Administer and collect data on student progress; update records
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with staff
• Implement strategies to address diverse student needs and support educational growth
• Provide clerical support (data entry, copying, filing, preparation of materials)
• Provide first aid, medical assistance, and personal care for ill or disabled students
• Assist with mobility and positioning for students with special needs and use adaptive equipment
• Track and dispense authorized medications
• Perform crossing guard duties before/after school
• Assist with cafeteria and recess supervision; keep environments safe and orderly
• Participate in meetings and trainings; support school initiatives
• Comply with District Policies; maintain consistent presence at work site
