Job summary

Equitas Academy seeks a 1:1 Aide to support scholars with IEPs both in and outside the classroom. The role includes wheel chair assistance, toileting, lunch/snacks, and classroom support, with collaboration with general education and RSP teachers.

The ideal candidate has ABA experience, is bilingual (English/Spanish preferred), and holds an AA degree (BA preferred). CPR/First Aid certification within 3 months is required. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent required.
• BA degree preferred.
• Knowledge and experience in ABA.
• Criminal clearance, including fingerprints and TB Test.
• Previous experience working with and supervising children.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Current CPR and 1st Aid Certificate within 3 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist scholars who need additional support in and outside the classroom.
• Collaborate with scholars' general education and RSP teacher
• Facilitate reading intervention, small group instruction and pull out groups
• Conduct academic assessments
• Provide instruction in drills and activities using learning strategies to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills
• Actively participate in professional development to refine school culture and academics
• Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of students
• Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
• Maintain communication with staff, parents, and stakeholders
• May provide adaptive supports with eating and toileting
• Perform other duties as assigned
