Job summary

St. Brendan School in Hilliard, OH is seeking a 1:1 Instructional Assistant to support a student with developmental and learning differences, helping the student stay engaged and fostering spiritual, academic and social growth.

Under the supervision of the teacher, you will assist with lesson planning, small groups, and clerical tasks, while maintaining confidentiality and a respectful classroom environment. The school emphasizes faith-based education and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit or be able to obtain one.
• Experience working with students in small group, resource, and/or inclusion settings preferred.
• Must be willing to work collaboratively with teachers to provide support services to students.
• Current FBI and BCI background checks required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty in classroom instruction, small group/individual tutoring, practice and drill.
• Provide support in maintaining a clean, safe, and cheerful classroom environment.
• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with administration, students, families, and volunteers; communicate with parents regularly.
• Assist Teacher with required reports and maintaining up-to-date student files; safeguard privacy of records.
• Interact with students during meals, serving as a positive role model.
• Perform duties as assigned per policies and procedures.
