Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking an Instructional Aide 1:1 to support at-risk students in K-12 within an Alternative Education team. The role focuses on individualized instruction, supervision, and collaboration with teachers to implement IEPs in classrooms and community settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• Paraprofessional credential required or in process.
• Ability to obtain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with supporting children in educational or behavioral health settings.
• Comfort working with students with learning disabilities and behavioral needs.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
• Knowledge of instructional tech and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
• Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
• Supervise and guide grades K-12 students in classrooms and community settings.
• Monitor progress and share updates with teachers on goals and timelines.
• Manage student behavior with aligned school policies.
• Support students in developing academic and life skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; prepare reports.
• Communicate with staff and families about student needs and achievements.
