Job summary

Newton Software is seeking Direct Support Professionals to provide 1:1 support for individuals in structured home environments, following detailed service plans and documenting progress.

You will assist with ADLs, monitor health and safety, and help maintain daily routines while encouraging independence. Overnight shifts may be required on some placements, and staff must stay engaged and attentive.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to provide hands-on care.
• Professional boundaries and reliability required.
• Must pass DHS NetStudy 2.0 background check.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance with ADLs (dressing, hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals).
• Support structured daily routines and independence goals.
• Monitor health, seizure activity, and behavioral changes (as assigned).
• Implement positive support and de-escalation strategies.
• Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks.
• Support community participation and transportation needs.
• Complete accurate and timely SOAP documentation.
• Follow incident reporting and emergency protocols.
