Job summary

Specialized Education Services, Inc. is seeking a paraprofessional/behavior aide to support K-12 students with intensive behavioral needs.

You will work one-on-one with students to implement IEP goals, help develop and modify behavior plans, and use de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment. The role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team and offers professional development and a path for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Experience with behavioral interventions for students with intensive needs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work one on one with an assigned student to meet IEP goals.
• Assist in development and modification of behavior support plans.
• Implement behavior support plans and track data on behaviors and progress.
• Utilize behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Apply de-escalation techniques and crisis management when needed.
• Foster a positive, inclusive environment to develop social and behavioral skills.
• Supervise students and ensure safety during transit to and from locations.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure consistency in plan implementation.
• Provide personal care support as needed.
• Communicate effectively with parents.
