Job summary

The Southeast Missouri Mental Health Center in Farmington, MO seeks a PRN Licensed Practical Nurse to join a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented team delivering psychiatric nursing care.

This role involves administering medications, maintaining accurate MARs, observing patient changes, crisis responses, and flexible shifts including weekends and holidays. The PRN hourly rate is $35.00–$40.00.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• LPN licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medications and treatments per doctor's orders.
• Complete medication administration records, narcotic administration records, progress notes, flow sheets, and other documentation accurately.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to ensure quality psychiatric and medical nursing care.
• Educate patients on living skills, medication therapy, symptom management, and health maintenance.
• Provide detailed therapeutic interventions and participate in crisis interventions to ensure safety.
• Work shifts may include weekends and holidays and a varied schedule.

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory,practices, and standards.
• Routinely prepares and administers medications and treatments in compliance with doctor's orders.
• Accurately and legibly completes medication administration records, narcotic administration records, progress notes, flow sheets and other required documentation.
• Observe and report any changes in a patient’s mental and physical condition in order to assure quality psychiatric and medicalnursing care.
• Teaches living skills, medication therapy, symptom management and other health maintenance needs to patients.
• Administer detailed therapeutic interventions to patients.
• Respond to and participate in crisis interventions in order to assure safety of patients, staff and the general public.
• Work assigned schedule which may include a variety of shifts, weekends and holidays.
• PRN shifts $35.00 - $40.00/hr

Minimum Qualifications:

• 0-3 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Licensure as a Practical Nurse
