DİTAŞ Deniz İşletmeciliği ve Tankerciliği A.Ş. İzmit/İzmir terminals require a senior maritime professional to supervise vetting inspections, monitor berthing vessels, and ensure compliant reporting for tanker operations.

You will plan inspections, record findings, coordinate with shipowners, and maintain HSE and QA processes. A Master Certificate of Competency, seven years at sea, tanker exposure, and fluent English are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a maritime faculty is required.
  • Master Certificate of Competency (oceangoing) is required.
  • At least 7 years of sea service experience.
  • Minimum 3 years tanker experience.
  • Fluent in English with strong written and spoken skills.
  • Ability to manage health, safety and environmental management systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with teamwork aptitude.
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving and task tracking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Closely following up on developments, rules, regulations, and industry practices to keep professional knowledge up to date.
  • Closely monitoring vessels scheduled to berth at the terminals.
  • Collecting accurate information about vessels prior to berthing.
  • Tracking Vetting Acceptance Questionary Forms from vessels berthing at the terminal.
  • Planning the vessels to be inspected by conducting a risk assessment.
  • Ensuring inspections are conducted professionally with full coordination.
  • Submitting findings to the company with comments regarding vessel and inspection.
  • Preparing and submitting inspection reports to shipowners/operators.
  • Recording inspection-related data, findings, and risk categories.
  • Requesting supporting documents from shipowners/operators and evaluating responses.
  • Planning subsequent inspections before the vessel's terminal acceptance validity expires.

Job description

  • Closely following up on recent developments, rules, regulations, and industry practices to keep professional knowledge up to date,
  • Closely monitoring vessels scheduled to berth at the terminals,
  • Collecting as accurate information as possible about the vessels prior to berthing,
  • Tracking Tupras Vetting Acceptance Questionary Form received from vessels berthing at the terminal,
  • Planning the vessels to be inspected by conducting a risk assessment,
  • Ensuring that the inspection is conducted professionally by maintaining full coordination,
  • Submitting findings to the company based on rules and regulations, along with personal comments regarding the vessel and the inspection,
  • Preparing and submitting the inspection report containing the identified findings to the shipowner/operator based on the resulting company report,
  • Recording inspection-related data, findings, and additional inspection documents, along with the risk categories of the findings,
  • Requesting necessary supporting documents from the shipowner/operator of the inspected vessel after the inspection, following up on them, and evaluating the incoming responses.
  • Planning the subsequent inspection before the vessel's terminal acceptance validity expires.
General Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a Maritime Faculty,
  • Valid Oceangoing Master Certificate of Competency,,
  • Minimum 7 years of sea service experience,
  • Minimum 3 years of tanker experience,
  • Fluency in English, with strong verbal, written, and comprehension skills,
  • Ability to manage health, safety, and environmental management systems,
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with a strong aptitude for teamwork,
  • Developed competencies in analytical thinking, problem-solving, task tracking, and results orientation.
