Job summary

DİTAŞ Deniz İşletmeciliği ve Tankerciliği A.Ş. zoekt a seasoned Chief Officer to oversee cargo operations on tanker vessels servicing TÜPRAŞ terminals. The role emphasizes strict safety checks and multi-party coordination to ensure smooth ship-to-shore operations.

Requirements include a Maritime Bachelor's, an Oceangoing Chief Officer certificate, at least five years at sea with three years tanker exposure, and excellent English communication. İzmir and İzmit locations are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of sea service experience.
• Must hold at least a valid Oceangoing Chief Officer certificate of competency.
• Fluent English with strong speaking, writing, and comprehension skills.
• Ability to manage health, safety and environmental management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide cargo operation master services on product and crude oil tankers per TÜPRAŞ Terminal requests.
• Jointly complete ship-shore safety checklists per ISGOTT and TÜPRAŞ standards with vessel cargo representative; conduct inspections during operations.
• Ensure effective coordination among all parties for safe and efficient cargo operations.
• Prepare, deliver, archive necessary documents and prepare reports on disruptions or defects to improve safety.

Job description

• Providing cargo operation master services on product and crude oil tankers upon the request of the TÜPRAŞ Terminal,
• Jointly completing the ship-shore safety checklists—determined by ISGOTT and TÜPRAŞ standards—with the vessel's cargo representative and conducting regular inspections throughout the operation,
• Ensuring effective cooperation and coordination among all parties for a safe and efficient cargo operation,
• Checking all necessary precautions for a safe operation; halting the operation and/or taking necessary actions in case of any deficiencies,
• Ensuring the continuity of ship-shore communication throughout the operation,
• Coordinating between the vessel, terminal, and third parties in emergency situations,
• Preparing, delivering, and archiving necessary documents,
• Preparing reports on any disruptions occurring during the operation,
• Reporting identified defects to contribute to the improvement of safe operations.

General Qualifications

• Holding a bachelor's degree from a Maritime Faculty,
• Holding at least a valid Oceangoing Chief Officer certificate of competency,
• Minimum 5 years of sea service experience,
• Minimum 3 years of tanker experience,
• Fluent in English with strong speaking, writing, and comprehension skills,
• Ability to manage health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with a strong aptitude for teamwork.
