Job summary

Karadeniz Holding is seeking a Technical Inspection Engineer (Mechanical) for the Kağıthane, Istanbul head office. The role focuses on audits, equipment reliability, and preventive maintenance across power generation and shipbuilding domains.

You will interpret drawings, lead RCA investigations, and collaborate with operations teams while traveling domestically and internationally. A strong mechanical engineering background and SAP PM experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in power generation, maritime, or shipbuilding industries.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of equipment automation, control, protection systems, and asset reliability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with proactive mindset and continuous improvement.
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and risk assessment methodologies.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and best practices.
• Experience with ERP/CMMS platforms, preferably SAP PM.
• Excellent written and spoken English (Upper-Intermediate/B2).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Support technical audits across power generation facilities to ensure compliance with standards and safety.
• Coordinate and support audits/inspections of mechanical systems and power generation equipment.
• Evaluate equipment condition and preventive maintenance effectiveness; provide technical reports.
• Review operating practices; document observations, findings and corrective actions.
• Monitor equipment performance trends and reliability concerns via data analysis.
• Participate in RCA investigations and preventive action implementation.
• Support engineering improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Collaborate with plant operations, OEMs, and third-party specialists on audits and projects.
• Contribute to development of technical standards and maintenance practices across the org.

We are looking for a Technical Inspection Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Operational Excellence at our Head Office located in Kağıthane, Istanbul.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the power generation, maritime, or shipbuilding industries.
• Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of equipment automation, control, protection systems, and asset reliability.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and maintenance documentation.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a proactive mindset and openness to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Well-developed analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and risk assessment methodologies.
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and maintenance best practices.
• Experience with ERP/CMMS platforms, preferably SAP PM.
• Excellent written and spoken English (Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or above).
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

• Support engineering improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term asset performance.
• Collaborate closely with plant operations teams, OEMs, and third-party technical specialists to ensure the successful execution of technical audits and engineering improvement projects.
• Contribute to the continuous development of technical standards, maintenance practices, and operational excellence across the organization.
