Job summary

Karadeniz Holding seeks a Technical Inspection Engineer (Mechanical) to join the Operational Excellence team at its Kağıthane, Istanbul head office. The role focuses on audits, reliability improvements, and maintenance optimization for power generation and marine equipment.

Required are a Mechanical/Marine engineering background, 5+ years in relevant sectors, diesel engine experience, and SAP/CMMS familiarity. Domestic and international travel may be needed, with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in power generation, maritime, or shipbuilding.
  • Experience in operation and maintenance of diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical systems.
  • Experience with ERP/CMMS platforms, preferably SAP PM.

Responsibilities

  • Support technical audits across power generation facilities to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate and support technical audits and inspections of mechanical systems and power generation equipment.
  • Evaluate equipment condition and preventive maintenance effectiveness with technical reports.
  • Review operating practices and document observations, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment performance trends and identify reliability concerns.

We are looking for a Technical Inspection Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Operational Excellence at our Head Office located in Kağıthane, Istanbul.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the power generation, maritime, or shipbuilding industries.
  • Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of diesel engines and auxiliary mechanical systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment automation, control, protection systems, and asset reliability.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and maintenance documentation.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a proactive mindset and openness to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Well-developed analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance strategies and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience with ERP/CMMS platforms, preferably SAP PM.
  • Excellent written and spoken English (Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or above).
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Review technical operating practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and document observations, findings, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor equipment performance trends and identify potential reliability concerns through technical assessments and operational data analysis.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and equipment failure reviews, contributing to the implementation of preventive actions and engineering best practices.
  • Support engineering improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and long-term asset performance.
  • Collaborate closely with plant operations teams, OEMs, and third-party technical specialists to ensure the successful execution of technical audits and engineering improvement projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of technical standards, maintenance practices, and operational excellence across the organization.
