Job summary

Döhler Turkey is looking for a Teamlead Flavour Creation to be employed for Maltepe Office in Istanbul with following qualifications;

Your Role

• Leading the Flavour Creation team across all flavour technology platforms, driving the development, harmonisation, and continuous improvement of innovative flavour solutions for global and regional markets,
• Managing, coaching, and developing a high-performing team of flavourists and flavour creation professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, technical excellence, collaboration, and talent growth,
• Driving global R&D communication and collaboration with regional flavour creation, application, sensory, and technology centres to ensure strategic alignment, knowledge sharing, and execution excellence,
• Translating consumer, customer, and market insights into differentiated flavour concepts and innovation pipelines in close partnership with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Sensory & Consumer Science, and Application teams,
• Leading flavour innovation projects end-to-end, from concept generation and flavour design through validation, optimisation, scale-up, and commercial implementation,
• Providing technical leadership across all flavour tonalities and technologies, ensuring best practices in flavour development, formulation, sensory quality, functionality, and performance across multiple food and beverage applications,
• Leveraging strong sensory expertise alongside analytical and data-driven decision-making to drive innovation, resolve technical challenges, and deliver superior customer solutions,
• Representing the Flavour Creation function in global innovation platforms, customer engagements, strategic projects, technical reviews, and cross-functional leadership initiatives,
• Driving standardisation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of flavour formulations by integrating sensory evaluation, analytical data, regulatory requirements, raw material management, processing constraints, shelf-life considerations, and customer expectations,
• Contributing to the long-term flavour innovation strategy, identifying emerging technologies, ingredient trends, consumer preferences, and future growth opportunities.

Your Profile

• University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or a related scientific discipline,
• Extensive experience as a flavourist, combined with proven leadership and people management experience in flavour creation, development, or R&D organisations,
• Demonstrated success in leading and developing technical teams, managing performance, coaching talent, and building strong collaborative cultures,
• Broad expertise across multiple flavour technologies and tonalities, with strong flavour chemistry knowledge, advanced sensory capabilities, and creativity in flavour design,
• In-depth understanding of flavour development processes, ingredient functionality, food and beverage applications, and commercial innovation environments,
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance creativity and technical rigour,
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working effectively across global, regional, and cross-functional teams,
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive innovation, manage priorities, and deliver results in a dynamic international environment,
• Fluent in English, with strong presentation and influencing skills.
