Position Overview
We are looking for a Tax Specialist to ensure that all tax obligations of the company are fulfilled accurately, timely, and in compliance with Turkish tax legislation and company policies. You will proactively identify tax risks, monitor legislative changes, and contribute to critical finance processes including tax audits, investment incentives, transfer pricing, and YMM processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Turkish tax legislation and assess the impact of changes on company operations, financial results, and processes
- Proactively identify tax risks, perform necessary controls, and follow up on mitigation actions
- Prepare and ensure timely submission of VAT, Withholding Tax, Stamp Tax, Corporate Tax, and Advance Corporate Tax returns and calculations
- Manage transfer pricing studies, analyses, and related documentation
- Coordinate YMM processes and special-purpose reports, and prepare documentation required for tax inspections and audits
- Maintain direct communication and coordination with the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Tax Inspection Board, and other governmental authorities
- Manage investment incentive processes and prepare tax reports for the foreign shareholder/group
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Finance, or a related field
- Preferably 5+ years of experience in tax and accounting, ideally within manufacturing, industrial, or multinational companies
- Strong knowledge of Turkish tax legislation, the Uniform Chart of Accounts, and accounting principles
- Hands-on experience with VAT, Corporate Tax, Advance Corporate Tax, Stamp Tax, transfer pricing, and investment incentive practices
- Experience working with YMMs, tax advisors, and governmental authorities, including tax inspections
- Strong MS Office skills (especially Excel); SAP knowledge is an advantage
- SMMM certification or internship preferred; good command of English is preferred; knowledge of German is a plus
