Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and transform the procurement function for a growing chemical-industry manufacturing client. The role goes beyond day-to-day purchasing, building processes, and shaping the future procurement organization.

You will develop sourcing strategies, onboard suppliers, drive cost optimization, and collaborate across Production, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to deliver value and excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
• Experience in procurement for manufacturing, chemical, or petrochemical sectors.
• Strong direct materials sourcing and supplier management background.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and process improvement.
• Knowledge of international procurement and import processes.
• Track record of cost-saving initiatives and supplier development.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and digital procurement projects.
• Strong analytical, commercial, and negotiation skills.
• Fluent English communication—written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct raw material procurement activities.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Identify, assess, and onboard local and international suppliers.
• Negotiate commercial agreements and improve supplier performance.
• Drive cost optimization and supplier development projects.
• Establish procurement policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Build KPI-driven reporting and performance management processes.
• Collaborate with Production, Planning, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Support procurement digitalization and ERP initiatives.
• Analyze spend data and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Shape the future procurement organization of the company.
