Job summary

Beko Corporate is seeking a Senior Specialist – R&D (Cooling Technologies) to lead cooling system projects within the Research and Development Directorate. The role focuses on design, testing, and optimization of domestic refrigeration systems to enhance energy efficiency.

The candidate should hold a Master in Mechanical Engineering (PhD a plus) with strong thermodynamics knowledge and experience in Python/C++, Modelica, MATLAB, and EES. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Master in Mechanical Engineering; PhD status is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of cooling systems, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
• Experience in design/optimization of thermal systems like cooling and heat pumps.
• Hands-on in test matrix design and experimental setup.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, and numerical tools (Modelica, MATLAB, EES).
• Fluent English with good communication and teamwork.

What awaits you in this role?

We are looking for a Senior Specialist – R&D (Cooling Technologies) who will work for the Research and Development Directorate in Beko Corporate.

• Leading and participating in projects related to cooling system design, cooling performance, and energy efficiency of domestic refrigerators/freezers, and integrated features’ system design such as design of ice-making units in refrigerators,
• Conducting experimental and aligned numerical studies to investigate the thermal system characteristics and effects on the cooling performance of refrigeration systems, efficiency of their components and sub-systems,
• Analyzing experimental and numerical results to develop the related cooling system and components designs,
• Developing alternative cooling system designs, algorithms, and new technology applications to improve the thermal performance of the products, in association with the functional quality and energy efficiency, and having proper cooling under various cooling demands,
• Preparing test plans for both systems and components such as compressors and heat exchangers,
• Performing theoretical thermal analysis and engineering calculations on the thermodynamics and heat&mass transfer issues related to the cooling system applications,
• Following/learning and developing related test standards,
• Improving digital skills to interpret the experimental and numerical results,
• Reporting, presenting, and sharing R&D project outcomes across departments and functions.

How do we describe the perfect match?

• Master (M.Sc.) degree in Mechanical Engineering (being a PhD candidate or having a PhD degree is a plus),
• Strong knowledge of cooling systems, thermodynamics, heat & mass transfer, and fluid dynamics,
• Knowledge and experience in the design and optimization of thermal systems such as cooling and heat pump systems,
• Knowledge and experience in thermo-fluid transport phenomena and boundary layer theory,
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in thermal systems engineering, cooling and/or heat pump systems,
• Strong hands‑on experience in test matrix design, experimental setup execution, and data evaluation,
• Having experience in programming languages such as Python, C++, and/or numerical engineering tools such as Modelica Dymola, MATLAB, EES, Coildesigner
• Having a desire to do both experimental and numerical R&D work in a continuously learning and developing manner,
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English,
• Thinking broadly about business,
• Understanding the needs of the market & customers,
• Having a desire to do outstanding jobs,
• Recognizing and understanding the emotions of other people,
• Listening to different perspectives and showing flexibility,
