Job summary

Bausch + Lomb is seeking a hands-on General Ledger Accountant to manage the day-to-day GL, ensure transactions are recorded with proper support, and drive timely closes in Istanbul.

You will collaborate with Accounts Payable, Receivable, Tax, and other functions, producing ad hoc reports and contributing to process improvements while upholding GAAP and accuracy. English fluency and 3–5+ years in GL/R2R are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in General Ledger accounting, R2R, or similar finance function.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and GL processes.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
• Knowledge of cash application software and related financial systems is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP) for data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day maintenance of the General Ledger with proper documentation.
• Prepare, review, and post journal entries in line with policy and standards.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities including accruals and reconciliations.
• Perform detailed GL reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts for management reporting.
• Support the R2R process with timely, accurate financial information.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, Tax, and others.
• Assist internal and external audits with supporting documentation.
• Develop and enhance GL policies, procedures, and controls.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in special projects.
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analyses as needed.
