Job summary

Carbon Health Technologies Inc. seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design and deliver scalable backend services and frontend UIs across the stack.

You will own features from design to production using Java, Kotlin, Scala, React, and AWS in a healthcare tech environment. Ideal candidates ship APIs (REST/gRPC/GraphQL), implement real-time features, and contribute to IaC with Terraform, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Qualifications

• Experience as a full-stack software engineer.
• Backend experience in JVM: Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
• Production-grade APIs via REST, gRPC, GraphQL.
• Strong frontend with React/Next.js.
• React Native experience, preferably Expo.
• Production AWS usage and IaC basics.
• Observability and monitoring with Grafana/Prometheus.
• Good English communication and independent ownership.
• Interest in applying AI to development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in JVM stack.
• Build APIs using REST, gRPC, GraphQL; integrate Apollo.
• Develop frontend with React/Next.js and React Native.
• Implement real-time features with WebSockets and queues.
• Utilize AWS and contribute to cloud infra and deployment.
• Use Terraform for provisioning and IaC basics.
• Improve observability with Grafana/Prometheus.
• Write maintainable, tested code and participate in design.
• Leverage AI to improve development workflows and docs.
• Collaborate with product/design/engineers to ship features on time.
