Job summary

IDP Education Ltd is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead the country accounting function, ensuring accuracy and timely statutory reporting. The role owns the general ledger, close processes, tax coordination, and internal controls while providing reliable financial insights to country and regional leadership.

Responsibilities include leading the monthly, quarterly and annual close, maintaining policy documentation, and coordinating with external advisers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, closing and consolidation, internal controls, statutory reporting, taxation and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

Lead the country accounting function, establish priorities and ensure timely execution of all accounting activities.
Own the monthly, quarterly and annual close, review results and explain variances.
Ensure timely statutory, tax, regulatory, and group reporting; coordinate with external advisers and regional finance.
Maintain robust accounting policies and close documentation; apply sound judgement to complex transactions.
Provide technical accounting guidance to the business and act as the country contact for accounting and compliance matters.
Ensure integrity of general ledger and reconcile balance-sheet accounts.
