Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building scalable, distributed systems.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 17+) and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and operating event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or similar messaging systems.
• Deep expertise in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), including schema design, indexing, transactions, and query optimization.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals: concurrency, caching (Redis, Caffeine), eventual consistency, and fault tolerance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural discussions, evaluate trade-offs, and drive engineering decisions across teams.
• Passion for writing clean, testable, well-documented, maintainable code with high test coverage.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design, implementation, and scaling of core backend services and APIs for our high-volume delivery platform.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Backend, and Frontend Engineers to deliver impactful features.
• Own critical systems end-to-end, define technical roadmaps, SLAs, and long-term health while improving operations.
• Mentor mid and junior engineers and conduct code reviews.
• Raise engineering bar by introducing best practices, tooling, testing standards, and processes.
• Diagnose and resolve production incidents and build resilient systems to prevent recurrence.
• Solve challenging algorithmic and distributed systems problems with focus on availability, data consistency, and cost efficiency.
