Job summary

Migros One is hiring a Backend Engineer to join our technology-led, fast-growing e-commerce team. You will develop and maintain microservice-based backend services using Java and Spring Boot, designing RESTful APIs and event-driven processes with Kafka/SQS.

You will also contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, and system scalability to support our leading e-commerce platforms. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in backend engineering, strong Java/Spring skills, and hands-on experience with microservices,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend experience.
• Experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with Kafka/SQS event-driven architectures.
• Relational DBs: PostgreSQL/MySQL.
• Redis caching knowledge.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.
• Git, Maven/Gradle, CI/CD pipelines.
• Unit and integration testing, TDD practices.
• Logging/observability tools.
• Clean code and SOLID principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservice-based backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, develop, and manage integration processes for RESTful APIs.
• Build services with Kafka/SQS in an event-driven architecture.
• Write unit and integration tests, ensure code quality.

Backend Engineer

We are looking for Backend Engineer who will be on our team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Develop and maintain microservice-based backend services using Java and Spring Boot,
• Design, develop, and manage integration processes for RESTful APIs,
• Build services working with messaging infrastructures such as Kafka/SQS within an event-driven architecture,
• Write unit and integration tests, ensuring code quality and maintainability,
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and monitor logs, metrics, and alerts after deployment,
• Improve system performance, scalability, and fault tolerance,
• Work closely with Product, Analysis, QA, and DevOps teams.

What You'll Bring:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a back-end engineer,
• Experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot,
• Practical experience with microservice architecture, distributed systems, and inter-service communication,
• Hands-on experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka/SQS,
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL/MySQL,
• Familiarity with caching technologies such as Redis,
• Basic/practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services,
• Good understanding of Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD pipeline processes,
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, mocking, and TDD practices,
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools,
• Strong understanding of clean code, SOLID principles, design patterns, and code review culture.
