Job summary

Zafer College is seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer to manage its legal affairs, engage with public authorities, and advise internal stakeholders. The role includes drafting contracts, overseeing compliance, and coordinating with external counsel.

The successful candidate will have a law degree, bar admission, and at least 15 years of post-qualification experience, with strong English proficiency to handle complex documentation and regulatory matters affecting private education

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review official notifications from public authorities with external counsel.
• Monitor deadlines for tenders, contracts, and corporate commitments.
• Oversee enforcement proceedings related to personnel matters; prepare responses.
• Draft, review, and approve contracts and procurement specifications.
• Prepare, standardize, and manage approval processes for letters of guarantee.
• Monitor regulatory developments and draft objections and legal notices as required.
• Oversee personnel disciplinary procedures and termination processes with HR.
• Initiate and follow up on overdue receivables and enforcement proceedings.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with MEBBIS data entries and reporting.
• Draft and manage education, scholarship, sponsorship, and athlete agreements.
• Manage trademark and patent applications and report unauthorized use.
• Coordinate documentation for external legal counsel promptly.
• Prepare monthly litigation and enforcement status reports for the Board.
• Oversee official legal processes of group companies.
• Advise on and ensure compliance with KVKK and related internal processes.

About the Role

Zafer College is seeking a highly experienced Senior Corporate Lawyer to manage the organization’s legal affairs involving public authorities, to advise internal stakeholders on legal matters, and to liaise with external legal counsel.

Responsibilities

• Review, assess, and respond to official notifications, correspondence, and reports received from public authorities, in coordination with external legal counsel
• Monitor, manage, and ensure compliance with deadlines related to tenders, contracts, guarantees, and corporate commitments
• Oversee and conduct enforcement proceedings related to personnel matters; prepare and submit extension requests, warning-letter responses, and related documentation subject to external counsel approval
• Draft, review, and approve contracts and technical specifications relating to procurement and purchasing activities
• Prepare, standardize, and manage approval processes for letters of guarantee
• Monitor, interpret, and implement legislative and regulatory developments applicable to private education institutions; draft and issue objections, formal responses, and legal notices where required
• Oversee and administer personnel disciplinary procedures (incident reports, defense requests, warning letters) and manage termination processes in coordination with HR and relevant departments
• Initiate, manage, and follow up on overdue receivables and enforcement proceedings
• Ensure full regulatory compliance with respect to MEBBIS data entries and related reporting obligations
• Draft, review, and manage education, scholarship, sponsorship, and athlete agreements
• Manage and supervise trademark and patent applications; monitor and report unauthorized use to external legal counsel
• Coordinate the collection and submission of required documentation to external legal counsel in a timely and complete manner
• Prepare, review, and present monthly litigation and enforcement status reports to the Board of Directors
• Oversee and coordinate official legal processes of group companies
• Advise and support the organization in relation to compliance with Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and oversee related internal compliance processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized university
• Licensed attorney (Bar admission required)
• Minimum 15 years of post-qualification legal experience

• C2-level proficiency in English, with the ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documentation
• Demonstrated experience in corporate law and preferably in legal matters related to private schools, foundations, or associations
• In-depth knowledge of official correspondence, regulatory notifications, and service of process
• Proven expertise in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and legal risk assessment
• Strong capabilities in legal reporting, follow-up, and case management
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
