Job summary

Mutlu Akü seeks a mid-senior Legal Counsel to join its legal team. The role reports to the Legal Section Leader and supports corporate & commercial law across the organization in English and Turkish.

The candidate should have a Turkish Bar admission and at least 5 years of relevant experience, including 2–3 years in-house. Automotive knowledge is a plus, with strong business-mindedness and attention to detail expected.

Qualifications

• University degree from Law and admitted to Turkish Bar.
• Fluency in English both verbal and written is a must.
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience (excluding internship period) in corporate & commercial law, contracts law, competition law and data privacy law.
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience at a company as an in-house legal counsel (multinational company/automotive industry knowledge is a +)
• Being practical business-minded, highly motivated and results-oriented.
• Self-discipline and attention to detail.
• Flexible to manage multiple time-sensitive matters.
• Military service completed for male applicants.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal opinion to relevant business units with pro-active legal advice.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts both in English and Turkish.
• Support in-house training process and participation in development of internal procedures.
• Draft and review corporate documents (PoAs, General Assembly Minutes, BoD Resolutions, internal directives and signature circulars etc.) both in English and Turkish.
• Follow up corporate secretarial processes such as General Assembly and Board meetings and necessary registration steps.
• Develop and maintain contract templates.
• Liaise with external legal firms and supervise litigations in assigned business areas.
• Engage in compliance projects; draft necessary legal documents thereof.
• Monitor and follow amendments on the relevant legislation and inform relevant units.

We are currently looking for a “Legal Counsel (mid-senior level)” to join our legal team. The Legal Counsel will report to “Legal Section Leader” and will assist Mutlu Legal Department in many faces of corporate & commercial law.
