Sales Manager – Turkey (Masterbatch)
El Sewedy Polymers | Elsewedy Electric Group
Istanbul, Turkey | Full-time | Field-based
About us
El Sewedy Polymers is the polymers arm of Elsewedy Electric, a global energy and infrastructure group with around USD 5 billion in revenue. We run two compounding facilities with a combined capacity of about 120,000 MT per year, producing masterbatch, PVC compounds, HFFR and XLPE, and we export to customers across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and beyond. Masterbatch is our largest business, and Turkey is a priority growth market.
The role
We are looking for a Sales Manager to own and grow our masterbatch market share in Turkey. You will build a profitable, diversified customer base among Turkish plastics converters, working with a strong technical and supply organisation behind you. You will report to the Masterbatch Export Sales Director.
What you will do
- Build and execute the Turkey masterbatch market plan (annual and 3-year): target segments, key accounts, value propositions and pricing, delivering agreed volume, revenue, margin and market-share targets.
- Grow our position across white, black, colour and additive masterbatch in segments including flexible packaging and BOPP/CPP film, raffia and FIBC, PP carpet yarn and nonwovens, PE/PVC pipe, agricultural film, injection moulding, white goods and automotive.
- Cover the key industrial clusters (Istanbul/Kocaeli, Bursa, İzmir, Gaziantep, Adana, Konya, Kayseri) through direct accounts and, where appropriate, distributors or agents.
- Run the full sales cycle: prospecting, technical trials, first orders and volume ramp-up, with a disciplined, CRM-tracked pipeline.
- Develop key-account plans to expand share of wallet, multi-grade penetration and long-term supply agreements.
- Negotiate price, Incoterms, payment terms and supply models within approved limits, balancing growth with margin and credit risk.
- Work with our technical service, colour-matching and application teams on trials, colour approvals and new-grade development.
- Bring customer and regulatory requirements (food contact, REACH, sustainability and recycled content) back into product development.
- Resolve customer complaints and quality claims together with Quality and Operations.
- Provide demand forecasts to Planning and Supply Chain, and ensure smooth order-to-cash execution with Logistics and Finance.
- Manage receivables and credit exposure in a volatile FX environment.
- Report monthly on performance, pipeline, market share and competitive intelligence.
- Represent the company at industry events such as Plast Eurasia Istanbul and with industry associations.
- As the business scales, build the case for a local team, distributor network or representative office.
- Support opportunities for our other product lines in Turkey (PVC, XLPE and HFFR compounds), with room to grow the scope of the role over time.
What we are looking for
- 8+ years in B2B sales of masterbatch, polymers, compounds or plastics additives, including at least 3 years covering the Turkish market.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Polymer or Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- Fluent Turkish and English.
- A proven track record of winning and growing accounts with plastics converters.
- Strong negotiation, key-account management and commercial judgement.
- Advanced Excel and CRM skills.
- A valid driving licence and the ability to travel extensively within Turkey, with periodic travel to Egypt.
Nice to have
- An existing network among Turkish converters.
- Experience growing a challenger brand against established suppliers.
- Working knowledge of colour theory, masterbatch dosing and conversion processes (film, extrusion, injection moulding, fibre spinning).
- Exposure to PVC/XLPE/HFFR compounds or the Turkish cable industry.
- An MBA or a postgraduate business qualification.
What we offer
- A market-building role with real ownership and visibility to senior leadership.
- The backing of a global group with in-house technical, R&D and supply capabilities.
- A clear development path into our broader polymers portfolio.
- A competitive package.
