Job summary

Sulzer, a leading engineering company, is hiring a Sales Engineer for our Water business in Istanbul, Turkey. You will blend technology and sales to provide technical support through the sales process and help develop customer-specific solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with customers, partners, sales colleagues, and engineering teams to explore opportunities in metal and mining, strengthen commercial and technical capabilities, and contribute to an international engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in technical sales or sales support.
• Ability to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
• Fluency in English and Turkish.

About the role

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to join our Water business in Istanbul, Turkey. In this role, you will combine your interest in technology and sales to provide technical support throughout the sales process and help develop solutions that meet customer requirements. You will work closely with customers, local partners, sales colleagues, and engineering teams, with a particular focus on opportunities within the metal and mining industry. What you will do:

Prepare and deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations.

Support the development of customized solutions based on customer needs.

Collaborate with engineering teams to confirm the technical feasibility of proposals.

Respond to customer inquiries and provide timely technical support.

Build and develop relationships with existing customers and local partners.

Support sales activities, with a strong focus on the metal and mining industry.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis.

Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in relevant CRM systems.

What you need to succeed:

Required:

• A university degree in engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or a sales support role.
• Strong interest in technology, engineering solutions, and customer-facing sales.
• Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
• Fluency in English and the local language.
• A proactive, adaptable, and collaborative approach.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting customers in the metal, mining, water, industrial, or rotating equipment sectors.
• Experience working with engineering teams and preparing technical and commercial proposals.
