Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for the Protection team, focused on payment dispute management, fraud prevention, and risk automation. You will own backend systems end-to-end, build scalable architectures, and integrate with multiple payment providers in a fully remote, distributed environment.

You will collaborate with engineering and product leaders to translate merchant challenges into reliable, automated solutions, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and shape

Qualifications

• Proven experience owning backend systems end to end, from architecture to deployment and maintenance.
• Strong software engineering and system design skills for scalable backends.
• Experience building systems from scratch and owning ambiguous problems.
• High standards for code quality, testing, reliability and operations.
• Proactive, delivery-focused mindset with visible shipping improvements.
• Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices.
• Excellent communication to work with remote engineering/product stakeholders.
• Experience in payments, fraud prevention or risk management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain backend systems with ownership across their lifecycle.
• Develop automation for payment disputes and fraud prevention workflows.
