Job summary

Sezzle is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer for its Security Platform. You will design, build, and operate security services in Go and Python on AWS and Kubernetes, owning the event-driven platform that connects scanners, findings, tickets, and metrics.

You will implement CI gates, triage workflows, and agentic automation, contributing to secure design reviews and on-call rotations. This fully remote role requires 6+ years in backend software engineering, strong Go skills, and

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including significant backend work.
• Deployed significant changes to a production application in the past 30 days.
• Strong proficiency in Golang, plus working proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience building and operating event-driven or message-based systems (NATS, Kafka, or similar).
• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipeline tooling — GitLab CI at fleet scale is a strong plus.
• Hands-on web application security knowledge: OWASP Top 10 in real code; ability to fix issues and encode detection.
• Hands-on experience with SAST, SCA, and secret-scanning tooling—tuning for signal-to-noise.
• Demonstrated AI-forward engineering and experience using AI tooling in development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate security engineering services in Golang and Python on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Own the event-driven platform between security services and the delivery of findings.
• Integrate scanners, ticketing, and metrics so remediation state is visible across teams.
• Own delivery of security gates: SAST, SCA, secret detection, container and IaC scanning.
• Build agentic security workflows and CI review agents adopted by engineers.
• Automate triage and remediation workflows with reproducible context and guidance.
• Participate in threat modelling and secure design reviews; take part in on-call rotations.
