Job summary

YEO in Türkiye is seeking a highly skilled R&D Design Director to lead the battery technologies strategy and the development of cells, modules, packs, and containerized BESS.

You will ensure effective coordination across mechanical, electrical, electronics, BMS, and software engineering teams, driving innovation and next‑generation battery technologies.

With over 700 employees, including more than 200 engineers, this role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and results‑driven execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering; Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in battery technologies, energy storage, automotive, or power electronics.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
• Professional proficiency in English.

• Develop and execute the company’s R&D and product development strategies for batteries and energy storage.
• Lead design and development of battery cells, modules, packs, and containerized BESS.

Job Description

• Develop and execute the company’s short-, mid-, and long-term R&D and product development strategies.
• Lead the design and development of battery cells, modules, packs, and containerized Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Ensure effective technical coordination across mechanical, electrical, electronics, Battery Management System (BMS), and software engineering teams.
• Drive innovation initiatives and contribute to the development of next-generation battery technologies and intellectual property.
• Establish and manage technical collaborations with universities, technology partners, and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred.
• Preferred minimum of 15 years of experience in battery technologies, energy storage systems, automotive, or power electronics industries.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering organizations.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• A strategic mindset with strong leadership, innovation, and results-driven decision-making capabilities.
