Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering required.
• Advanced English communication skills (written and verbal) required.
• Extensive experience with wind turbine foundation design and large-scale industrial foundations preferred.
• Solid understanding of ULS/SLS, fatigue, overturning, uplift, crack control concepts.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and structural analysis software (SAP2000 or equivalent).
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Job description

Leading international manufacturer of wind turbines worldwide, present in several countries across the world seeks a qualified Project Civil Engineer within the development of its activities in Istanbul to work with our Engineering Department and fill the following position in daily operations:

• Support the sales and project execution teams on all technical aspects of wind farm civil infrastructure; including soil and geotechnical conditions, internal access roads, crane platform design and other related structures.
• Review soil investigation reports, provide technical comments, and clarify open issues with soil investigation contractors.
• Review project-specific foundation reports and road design studies against technical requirement specifications, prepare technical summaries and clarify relevant comments/details with clients, designers and contractors.
• Check the final design to ensure full compliance with Nordex standards, as well as the contractual civil scope of obligations agreed with customers.
• Discuss and clarify all technical open issues with clients and the appointed controlling parties.
• Conduct at least one site visit to the construction sites under responsibility to inspect and report the anchor cage installation.
• Review project-specific anchor cage acceptance and material reports, notify project execution teams of any non-conformities, and if necessary, conduct additional site visits to ensure the high-quality standard of the structures.
• Review corporate design tools and documentation against local regulations, provide and comment on necessary modifications or updates, and align with the global team for execution.
• Identify risks and opportunities during early project phases and develop effective mitigation measures.
• Report achievements, risks, and challenges to the Project Manager and headquarters on a regular basis to mitigate additional costs and minimize safety risks.
• Close technical punchlist items within your field of work and prepare the final documentation during the sales phase, or whenever additional information is required.
• Assist in the qualification and selection process of civil subcontractors upon request.
• Ensure active involvement of corporate Health, Safety & Environmental,
• Regular domestic and international travel is a key part of the role, including participating in project kick-off meetings and global team workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or preferably Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Solid structural design experience focusing mainly on foundations (especially in TBDY 2018 and Eurocode; ASCE7 is a plus).
• Technical understanding of Ultimate Limit State (ULS), Serviceability Limit State (SLS), fatigue, overturning, uplift, and crack control concepts, as well as competence in post-tensioning, settlement analysis, and soil improvement methods.
• Extensive experience in wind turbine foundation design and/or large-scale industrial foundation design is required.
• Knowledge and experience in the structural design of concrete, steel, and hybrid structures, with a focus on seismic and fatigue considerations.
• Proficiency in the interpretation and analysis of geotechnical and soil investigation reports.
• Ability to understand and translate contractual requirements into practical engineering solutions.
• Competence to detect project risks, undefined technical gaps, and complex interfaces early in the process.
• Extensive experience and capability with CAD tools (preferably AutoCAD and Civil 3D) and structural analysis software, such as SAP2000 or equivalent.
• Earthquake Engineering background will be a plus.
